Review - NI Massive

Cheebs

The first time I used Massive, I thought it was too good to be true. This is one of the easiest VST's to break into that I have used in awhile. I started out with the demo version to try it out to see what it was all about and I loved it so much I had to buy it.

The layout is really easy to figure out. The filters and effects are easy to link up and the signal flow is easy to change. Within 10 or 15 min I had a nice sound and was getting the hang of all the filters.

It comes with a lot of really dope pre-sets and the oscillators are easy to mess with.

You can get it for $229 all over the internet and I feel it's worth every penny. You can also use it on 2 different computers which is nice and the updates are free for life.

Check Massive out here http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/massive/ at the Native Instruments site.

Breakdown-

Interface : 9/10
Sound: 10/10
Ease of Use: 9/10
Value: 9/10

Overall: 9.25/10

A side note, I'm saving up for a new laptop, so any donations you can throw my way would be great. I need to start doing sets.

Massive is really amazing, I loved it so much I decided to check out all of the native-instruments VSTs. I ultimately bought the entire Komplete 6 set, FM8 is one of the best along with Absynth 5(if you like really strange sounds). Akoustik Piano while not better then Synthogy's IVORY is good enough for your everyday ideas without having to use FLkeys(the tinny sounds the default makes really puts a damper on the creative process).

The only qualm I have is my computer is by no mean crap but massive and absynth seem to drain all the CPU power I have. I am running with ASIO full duplex driver with a audiophile 2496, I seem to still get dropouts in my sound. Of course I do rewires to reason(I am a former mac user I can't get off of redrum) I do not believe it should affect performance that much though.

Recommending this amazing plugin is a duty of all musicians.
